Where can I sit alone quietly in PJ?
Short answer: Section 13, Petaling Jaya. The Square at Jaya One, Level 1. Open 11am to 8pm, every day.
Long answer below, because "quiet" means different things to different people.
What you are probably looking for
Not a cafe. In a cafe you nurse one drink, the table next to you is on a call, and after an hour you feel you should order again or leave.
Sometimes you just want an hour or two where nobody needs anything from you. Somewhere to catch your breath. No one to answer. No role to hold up.
That is what MeTime is for.
What is here
Three rooms with doors. You book by the hour. Close the door, and the outside stays outside. Read, work, think, or do nothing at all. The lights and the air-con are yours to set.
Bunkers. Smaller, tucked into a corner, for one person. Good when you do not need a whole room, just a corner that is yours.
The open area and the lawn. For when you want to be around people without being with people. Books, tea from the counter, and a cat called Ichy who wanders through and does not ask questions either.
What we do not do
We do not ask why you came. Not at the counter, not on the booking form. There is no "why" box on the form.
Once you are in, we do not come knocking.
We do not suggest how to use the time. You already know what you need.
Practical bits
- Where: 1.010B, Level 1, The Square, Jalan Profesor Diraja Ungku Aziz, Seksyen 13, 46200 Petaling Jaya. Parking at Jaya One.
- When: 11am to 8pm daily.
- How: Book from tomorrow onwards at app.metime.my. You see the time slots and choose. For today, just walk in; if a space is free, it is yours.
- Prices: on the pricing page. By the hour, no minimum spend on drinks.
- Also in Kepong: a second MeTime at Kepong Baru, if that is nearer to home.
Close the door. That is the whole idea.
